Well, we officially had our first burn of the season. We brought out the chairs, grabbed some beverages and sat around the fire Saturday night. It was nice to just have company and catch up. I recommend it to everyone. Sunday we got up early to get ready for church. I've been teaching one of the two year old classes and love every minute of it. I actually had three new trainees. Erin, our Children's minister thought I would do well at training people as well. It feels so nice to be needed. God is truly blessing me and getting me ready for motherhood. I look forward to all that He will bestow upon me. This work week should be low-key. Three more weeks til I head out to Maryland for Dorie's baby shower and Mother's Day weekend. I am really looking forward to seeing familiar faces and my bestie, Lauren. It'll be a quick trip, but it'll just be nice to be home for a bit. Also, we have been struggling with our air conditioner unit and it turns out there's...

She has been such a wonderful blessing to Tyler and I. It has been a joy to watch her grow from puppy to now. Happy 5th Birthday, Maya Jean!!! We love you!!!

Weekend Recap

(Mari) Well, there is nothing like spending the weekend with good people and celebrating your birthday....then getting sick of course! Yup, I closed out my 3 day weekend with a cold. My nose is completely congested. Oh well, it's a joy to be heavily medicated. This week, we've got a few things coming up. . . Small group game night on Thurs, and then I start volunteering at church with the two year olds during the 11am service. I continue to strive to live for God and spread His word. Yesterday's message at church was to not judge. Truth is, this is something we all need to work on; myself included. In Matthew 7:3 he says, "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?". Truth!!!! Lets focus on looking inward, instead of outward. Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or ...

Today, I was born.

(Mari) I am twenty-nine years old today. My last year of my 20's. I'm getting a little bit older, and a little more wiser (hopefully). Twenty-nine brings lots of new things to our table, the main thing being starting a family. However we go about it, I know God will guide us. In the meantime, it brings revamping our new home and making it ours. Getting ready to get outside and do touch-ups, planting, mowing the lawn (Tyler's job), having bonfires, and enjoying the sunshine. I am so glad I took today off. I needed the extra sleep, and time to really reflect on the changes in my life thus far. I look around this quiet home and realize that I've been unbelievably blessed. God doesn't bless us the way we think we should be blessed. He delivers the blessings we need most. The ones we don't think we need until we have them in our lives. The blessings that, we quietly sneer at that didn't come to us when we initially needed them. It's such a beautiful th...
