It's been a while....

So sorry friends, we haven't updated in awhile. Let's do a quick recap....

July - We've been quite the homebodies in effort to save money. Most evenings we are watching movies, playing with the girls, and doing chores. I had a wedding to coordinate and it was a swelter of a day. While it was fun and beautiful, it was hot and humid. The bride remained gorgeous throughout it tho.

Home study Update: In effort to give us a bit more time to save, we've pushed our home study to begin Jan 2018. What some people don't quite understand is that there are things that need to be in place by the start of our home study OR before the last visit. Tyler and I need to finish getting our pre-home study paperwork completed, this includes his autobiography, our guardianship paperwork, a fire escape ladder for the upstairs, three fire extinguishers - one for every level of the house, carbon monoxide detectors throughout the house- this might include an upgrade to the alarms in the house to be dual fire and carbon monoxide detectors, online training/classes,  and more than likely another baby gate. It definitely doesn't seem like a lot of things, but we aren't rushing as we feel this is all on God's timing. We most definitely look forward to Jan 2018 to start the actual home study visits.

August - thus far we've been hunkering down. Sometimes we go out to local parks and enjoy nature. We've decided to take one trip to simply 'get away', so at some point during the Fall we will head to Tulsa, OK to visit with Carol and Larry. I've never been to Tulsa, and am always hearing good things about it. Our plans change a bit as we swore that we'd save every penny, but having spent a majority of this year doing very little and visiting places, we're getting a little stir crazy. It'll be nice to finally visit them as I have yet to do so.

September - Tyler and I will celebrate 3 years of marriage and 8 years of simply being together. Time has flown on by. It's unreal.

Oct, Nov, and Dec - Who knows. My goal is for us to have most of the items we need before our home study completed.

As per usual, I welcome those of you who would like to see us to venture to IL. We're happy to host any/all of you. It's VERY HARD for me knowing that this year we will not be coming home for the holidays. I hope that if you wish to see us, that you let us know, and we can arrange a visit for you to come here. Something that I hope as we bring a child or children into our lives, that friends and family make the effort to visit us in IL.
