It's been a minute...

So returning from MI has been rough! We've had two weekends of non-stop action and now we are officially exhausted. So to recap....here we go....

Memorial Day weekend we trekked up to Grand Rapids, MI to be with our wonderful friends, Tim & Christina. We didn't plan anything and it was awesome! T & C showed us all around East Grand Rapids, took us to some eateries, and spoiled us with homemade breakfasts!

Tyler had the BEST portabella mushroom sandwich. I tried a bit and normally I am not a fan of Portabella, but dang, this one was AMAZING!!!
Tyler and Tim ventured off to the Founders Brewery, while Christina and I went shopping one day. We all enthusiastically did a paint evening. It was so fun to be able to share that with T & C since they hadn't done it before. It was a laid-back weekend with wonderful people. God truly blessed us. Oh did I mention it was supposed to t-storm all weekend and we got nothing but sunshine!
Once we returned, the work week was overwhelmingly slow. You'd think four days would fly by, but having my annual review and major anxiety over that didn't make it any faster. Hanging our paintings up was fun and always a great reminder of our time in MI.

Fast forward to Fri eve, we ventured to Springfield to get Tyler's new bike and have dinner with Jordy, who met us over there with his bike. He said his last goodbye to his old bike and hello to his new. It's quite beautiful and has epic resting bitch face. She's a sassy girl, Scarlett O'hara. Yeah, that's what I named here since I get naming rights. He's loving it and I'm just praying every day that other people on the road see my Tyler and they drive safe. Watch out for motorcyclists!!!!

Saturday morning we were up early, in the rain for our neighborhood garage sale. We didn't have a great turnout but people showed. Tyler and I agreed that we need to do it again on Sunday and so glad we did b/c we had a better turnout.
Sunday evening we ventured down to Philo to help Kaitlyn throw a surprise 60th for her dad. He was floored and Kaitlyn really out-did herself. Afterwards, we swung by Tyler's mom's house and caught up with Becky and Gary. PS, if you haven't seen their backyard, you should! They've done a great job!!!
It was a good weekend all around.

This weekend we have our neighborhood's first picnic and being on the board, I've had a hand in it and am looking forward to a positive turnout.
Pray that happens.
